Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | CBS Austin airs a variety of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in support of important children's issues such as fighting obesity, the importance of staying in school and the importance of exercise. CBS Austin also provides information to educate children on the many careers in the broadcast field and donates to community events benefiting children in our area. Additionally, on July 29, 2017, CBS-Austin and Telemundo Austin hosted our annual Back-to-School Back-Pack Give-away benefitting under privileged youths attending area school systems. Each student was given a back-pack filled with the required school supplies to start the new school year. More than 1100 student back-packs were distributed at the event this year. Also in the 3rd Quarter, Chief Meteorologist Chikabe Windler participated as a judge in the 13th Annual Trick Olympics on August 5, 2017 benefitting CASA of Travis County, a child advocacy organization; as well as participating in the Annual Schlotsky's Bun Run on September 24, 2017 benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
