Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. During the quarter there were 16 news stories appropriate for children that aired on either the 5PM or 6PM newscast. The content of the stories ranged from: It's an exciting day for these hearing impaired students at Virginia Heights Elementary School. Underneath this wrapping paper are dolls and super heroes with hearing aids....At Spring Mills School, administrators say students involvement is a top priority. ...When it comes to the students, safety is a top priority. Bus drivers spend 20 minutes each day inspecting their vehicles. Kids Cast - Every Wednesday during our 5PM newscast weather segment, a third through fifth grade school student gives our weather forecast. Children draw a picture of " weather events" and submits it to our local kids cast sponsors. Each week, a picture is chosen and the child that drew that picture sits on our live news set and delivers the weather for the School Bus forecast. The child arrives early, and in addition to learning about the weather, they get to see how a live newscast works "behind the scenes." During the Month of October there were 61 30-second promos that aired for the Play of the Week. Each week, a different male or female athlete is chosen as our Play of the Week. During the month of November 61 30-second promos were aired. And during the month of December 61 30-second promos aired promoting Play of the Week.
