Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | Details regarding preemptions: The following core children's programs on WRAL Channel 5.1 were preempted and rescheduled due the airing of The WRAL Raleigh Christmas Parade (11/19) and the Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade (11/5). The reason provided for these preemptions was "Other" -- Brain Game, Smart Start Kids, The Voyager with Josh Garcia and Wilderness Vet. As also reflected in this report, two core children's programs on WRAL Channel 5.1 aired in multiple time slots this quarter due to programming scheduling changes: Journey with Dylan Dreyer and Naturally, Danny Seo. In all instances of programming schedule changes, WRAL provided advance notification to the public. WRAL seeks to positively influence the lives of our younger audience through station tours, routine school visits, station talent involvement at family-friendly events, and donated PSA production and/or airtime. Below is a detailed accounting of the station's efforts this quarter: Station tours were conducted for 130 school-age children and station-supported events benefiting children and their families included: Walk for Hope 5K Walk/Run (Oct 9), NC State Fair ( Oct 13 - 23), Fayetteville Veteran's Day Parade (Nov 5), WRAL's Annual Coats for the Children Campaign (Nov 19 - Dec 31), The WRAL Raleigh Christmas Parade (Nov 19), A Dickens Holiday/Fayetteville Arts Council (Nov 25), The Nutcracker/Carolina Ballet (mid Nov - Dec 23), Fayetteville Christmas Parade (Dec 10), and First Night Raleigh New Year's Eve Celebration (Dec 31). WRAL-TV also aired public service announcements in the interest of children during our core children's programming block on WRAL Channel 5.1 and 5.2.
