See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. As a part of our service to the community, KFDM reserves a certain number of commercial availabilities for public service announcements. These spots are normally provided to us through National organizations but we also sponsor/support local events such as our 22nd annual TOYFEAST, collecting non-perishable food items, toys and cash for the three area Salvation Armies serving our area. This year, during our live broadcast, we collected cash donations, approximately 3,000 toys and bikes, and thousands of dollars worth of non perishable food items to be distributed to those less fortunate people in Southeast Texas. We partner with local industry to provide coats and blankets in our annual Coats and Kettle campaign. These are distributed through the Salvation Army., We have updated our Golden Apple Educator Awards, and now honor local teachers on THE MORNING SHOW with the Outstanding Educator Award. As sponsors of Lamar University, we appeal to children with Tailgate parties at the Conference at-home games, with giveaways promoting FOX primetime programs. Our Pay It Forward new segment honors local volunteers, including young people, who reach out to help our comunity. This year, we produced SOUNDS OF THE SEASON II, featuring ocal elementary , middle school and high school choirs singing Christmas Carols on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We were primary sponsors of the American Cancer SOciety Cattle Baron's Ball and encouraged children and families to participate in the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk and the Gift of Life Color Run. We also participate in the NAB Don't Drink and Drive roadblock, and run these PSA's throughout the holiday, and throuhgout the year. National PSAs aimed at children include bicycle safety, student aid, leukemia treatments, cell phone safety, andti-drunk driving campaign, children's advocacy spots like Autism Awareness and the National Chidren's Alliance, as well as the Gary Sinise Foundation, A wonder World Value, Shelter/Adopt a Pet, Special Athlete Values, Texas 8-1-1. It's the Law, Loyalty, Pass It On, Forgiveness Values, United Way NFL Play, Just Say Hi Values, Stop Texts Wrecks Afterlife, Keep America Beautiful, Stop Texts Stop Wrecks Unlucky, and Discover the Forest.
