In each episode Chica develops or encounters a problem that she cannot immediately resolve. Usually her issues involve impulse control, distractibility, judgment, and inter-personal behaviors. The preempted children's programs always air in their entirety in the order in which they are scheduled by NBC in the same sequence as at their regularly-scheduled times, except they are aired following the sports program that preempted the children's block. There have been some instances in which one or more programs have been rescheduled to Sunday due to the length of live NBC sports on Saturday. The licensee announces to check their local listings for the new times.
