WAGM News reporters/anchors also visit area schools, trade fairs, job fairs to educate children on information about being a news reporter/anchor and careers in broadcasting. WAGM offers tours of the station to local schools and community associates to demo state the diversity of broadcasting and what it's all about. WAGM airs "The Outdoorsman" whose format is FCC friendly (EI) educational blends on world class adventures and international locations, environmental and conservation issues teaching kids of all ages about important aspects of the format. WAGM produces Athlete of the Week, highlighting High School Athletes in a weekly sports segment of NewsSource8. WAGM also produces "Adopt A Pet," a weekly news segment featuring a pet for adoption and local humane societies. WAGM airs PSA's against texting and driving as well as drunk and buzzed driving.
