Include any other comments or information you want the Commission to consider in evaluating your compliance with the Children's Television Act (or use this space for supplemental explanations). This may include information on any other noncore educational and informational programming that you aired this quarter or plan to air during the next quarter, or any existing or proposed non-broadcast efforts that will enhance the educational and informational value of such programming to children. See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | During the 2nd quarter of 2016 WUPA wrapped up the first year of our partnership with the Ford Motor Company Foundation and the Driving Skills for Life program. The program was targeted at newly licensed drivers and began with in-school assemblies held at local Atlanta High Schools. It culminated with simulated driving experiences for the teenagers complete with professional race car drivers as instructors. To promote the program we ran public service announcements on -air and increased our web site exposure to encourage kids to visit the Ford Academy to learn more about safe driving. In addition, we aired over 7 hours of public service announcements weekly. Our PSA rotation covered a variety of topics including gun safety, education, drug and alcohol abuse as well sexual assault prevention. |
