WBFF continued to the serve the educational and informational needs of children throughout the Second Quarter 2016 through broadcast and outreach activities. The station continued to air PSAs for local and national organizations serving the interests of children including spots for the US Forest Service Dept of Health and Human Services Dept of Education Boy Scouts Baltimore City Fire Department local libraries and schools. The station airs a community calendar featuring activities and programs of interest to children and their families. Throughout the Second Quarter the station broadcast its annual CollegeBound Scholar of the Week campaign saluting graduating seniors from Baltimore City public high schools for their academic achievements leadership and community services. The station continued to offer station tours to local schools scouts and trade schools staff participated in career day activities. Meteorologists presented weather lessons in local schools and station management served on several local boards of directors for non-profits serving youth. And morning news continued its Weather Kid Wednesday feature in which children ages 8 to 15 could visit with meteorologist Johnathan Myers receive a private weather lesson and then assist him with presenting the days forecast live on air. WBFF provided media sponsorship to The Baltimore Curriculum Project and its charter schools, The South Baltimore Learning Center, The Believe in Tomorrow Children's Foundation, and The Family League of Baltimore. The stations produced and aired broadcast campaign for the Bmore Super Summer campaign promoting free meals for children during the summer school vacation and learning and enrichment opportunities at summer camps, sports programs, summer reading and enrichment programs. Additionally, WBFF created a TV Campaign for Baltimore City Recreation and Parks promoting city parks as a playcation destination for all ages, especially families.
