The main characters are the Clanger family, a group of pink knitted mouse-like creatures who walk upright, Mother, Major (who is the father), Small and Tiny (the children) and Granny. Clanger Planet is small enough to walk its circumference and is also riddled with caves and tunnels that house the family and their friends, the Soup Dragon and her baby, the three Froglets, and a group of singing flowers. Contextual features and characters include a sideways lake, singing trees, a cloud that has emotions, flying "cows", and The Iron Chicken who lives in a nest of harvested metal parts from the detritus of outer space. The tone is existential-each day presents its own story-which is usually happily resolved by one of the children or another family member. The series is fittingly narrated by William Shatner (Captain Kirk from the Star Trek television series). |

Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | Network preemptions for sports programming during our morning children's block has a greater impact on stations in the Alaska time zone than in the lower 48 states. The preempted children's programs always air in their entirety in the order in which they are scheduled by NBC in the same sequence as at their regularly-scheduled times, except they are aired following the sports program that preempted the children's block. There have been some instances in which one or more programs have been rescheduled to Sunday due to the length of live NBC sports on Saturday. The licensee announces to check their local listings for the new times. This has been a consistant practice of the station so that viewers will know when to expect to view the children's programming that is preempted by sports. Through comedy and zippy action, our target audience sees how the characters learn lessons for practical living such as how to: keep track of things that belong to you, practice good habits, clean up a space when you've made a mess, rebound from a failure or embarrassing incident, or resist the urge to blame others for your mistakes. |
