The station continued to air PSAs for local and national organizations serving the interests of children including spots for the Dept of Health and Human Services, Dept of Education, Boy Scouts, Baltimore City Fire Department, local libraries and schools. WUTB participated in the Champions of Courage Black History Month Essay Competition for Maryland middle and high schools. Students were challenged to write essays saluting positive role models who continued Dr. Kings lessons and legacy promoting brotherhood, tolerance, equality, fairness, self determination and pride in the community. The essays aired as 30 secs spots from 01/19/16 through 03/06/16. WUTB presented the BMore Health Expo with the theme of be more health ...Spring into Action. At the Expo attended by more then 30,000, childrens health, safety, nutrition, and physical activities were showcased. The Expo also showcased a Health and Wellness Career Fair anchored by the MDBio Foundation which provided age appropriate hands on STEM activities and career exploration. New in 2016, the Bmore Healthy Expo featured a Family Meal Time Zone promoting the importance of preparing and sharing a meal together as a family and how mealtime impacts a childs development milestone, language development and socialization. It should be noted that the ASN network was launch on 41.3 effective 01/11/16.
