FCC Report 4th Quarter 2015 Eau Claire Film Festival Date 10/08 10/10 thru 11/12 News 18 produced a PSA encouraging viewers to attend Another Independent International Film Festival, a film festival in Eau Claire, WI. Films were submitted from all around the world to be shown in the Micon Cinemas. By purchasing tickets, viewers were able to see all 30 screenings, attend panel discussions on the film, as well as the opening night reception. Haunted Hustle Date 10/13 10/13 thru 10/24 Length 15 Talent Andrew Mc Cawley News 18 produced a PSA encouraging viewers to participate in the 2015 Haunted Hustle. The Haunted Hustle is a Halloween themed run promoting healthy eating habits and healthy lifestyle. Proceeds raised at this event support the YMCA childrens program. News 18 anchor, Andrew Mc Cawley, fronted the PSA. The event raised more than 7,500 dollars. Xmas is for Children Date 11/10 11/11 thru 12/4 Length 30 Talent Heidi Bohl WQOW produced a PSA encouraging viewers to participate in the Xmas is for children present donation. News anchor, Heidi Bohl fronted the promotion. Iheart Media cosponsors the program with WQOW News 18, participants select a child to purchase gifts for during the Holiday Season. The program supplied 788 children with gifts. Run For The Lights Date 11/28 11/5 thru 11/28 Length 15 Talent Heidi Bohl WQOW produced a PSA encouraging viewers to participate in the Run For the Lights 5K Run Walk. News anchor, Heidi Bohl fronted the promotion. All proceeds benefited the Irvine Park Christmas Village. More than 300 runners participated. The event raised more than 3,000 dollars. WQOW Weather Academy Date 11/12 11/17 thru 11/25 Length 30 Talent Andrew McCawley WQOW produced a PSA promoting our Weather Academy program. Our Meteorologists and staff travel to a local elementary school to promote weather through weather experiments, teaching about weather, and providing a live newscast from the school. UWL vs UWEC Football Date 10/24 10/13 thru 10/23 Length 30 and 15 WQOW produced a PSA promoting our College Football game that we broadcast live. This year, the game was in La Crosse, WI. We encourage viewers to attend the game as well as tune in to watch the game Live on our station.
