These PSAs covered subjects ranging from nutrition to education and volunteering. KABC-TV also produces the local public affairs/informational program Vista L.A., which showcases positive influences for young and old Latino viewers. KABC-TV also sponsors many community events throughout southern California. Some of the many events the station was involved with this quarter are: Autism Speaks "Walk Now for Autism" ABC7 produced and aired Public Service Announcements with Eyewitness News Anchor Phillip Palmer, promoting "Walk Now for Autism", which was held on April 18, 2015. ABC7 is the Media Sponsor and we participated in the Walk, as well as manned a Booth. The Telethon was hosted at the ABC7 Studios on April 29, 2015. Through the generosity of its viewers, ABC7 raised a total of $202,871.02. Mexican American Opportunity Foundation ABC7 was the Media Sponsor for the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation's "36th National Latina Women's Conference," which was held on May 8, 2015. The Media Sponsorship included on-air promotion on the station's weekly PSA, the 7 Day Planner, and sponsoring a career workshop on "Careers in Television." ABC7 news broadcasts featured on-air news talent encouraging viewers to donate to the World Games by going to a special Team ABC7 link to make monetary donations. In addition to on-air promotion, ABC7 is aggressively using social media platforms using ABC7 on-air talent to promote support and excitement for the World Games. ABC7 news shows are including multiple news stories about the games featuring Special Olympics athletes, coaches and events. The ABC7 Cool Kids news segments that honor high school students has included high school age Special Olympic athletes. At the request of the Special Olympics, ABC7 provided B-roll of a staged leg of the Torch run and shared the video with the Special Olympics organization and ESPN to be used for PSA spots. Feed SoCal ABC7, Vons, Albertsons and Southern California regional food banks partnered up for the 4th annual Feed SoCal hunger initiative.
