The careers and people featured are carefully selected in order to present vivid impressions that can be used by the series' young audience. A study conducted by The Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania concerning the implementation of the FCC processing guideline known as the Three-Hour Rule found that "Real Life 101" was highly educational.
