See 47 C.F.R. Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | April, May, & June 2014 KOMO 4 WEATHER KIDS Every M-F April-June Our Morning News Weathercaster, Seth Wayne, inspired kids to find the fascination in weather. Students created drawings of Northwest weather - rainstorms, sunny day, clouds, etc. and submitted their masterpieces to Seth to show on-air during KOMO 4 Morning News. Each morning around 6:15am, Seth would showcase one Weather Kid's drawing. Seth received hundreds of submissions, proving that many kids in our area are inspired by him and love the Northwest weather. May 14, 2014 WEATHER EDUCATION DAY KOMO 4 partners with the Seattle Mariners each year for Weather Education Day at Safeco Field. KOMO 4's Weatherman, Steve Pool, leads a multimedia program discussing weather and the impacts on our environment and daily lives. The science-rich program occurs before a game and tickets for students and chaperones can be purchased at a reduced rate. Lunch is also served to all the kids that attend the event. This year, over 4,000 kids from dozens of schools across the northwest attended. June 6, 2014 MIRACLE MAKERS TELETHON KOMO 4 partners with Seattle Children's Hospital for the Miracle Maker's Telethon. For many years, KOMO 4 staff and volunteers have participated in raising millions for the hospital's uncompensated care fund which helps ensure that no child in need of medical treatment gets turned away. This is a vital contribution to the hospital's ability to serve families in the area and throughout the northwest. This year, we raised over $230,000 for this important cause. |
