Section 73.671, NOTES 2 and 3. | WBFF continued its commitment to serve the educational and informational needs of children with production and broadcast of public service announcements for local organizations. PSASs produced focused on prevention of childhood obesity, nutrition, fitness, playtime, nature and physical activity. The station worked in partnership with Oregon Ridge Nature Center, Fit Families Foundation, Choo Smith Camps, and Share Our Strength to produce PSAs. Additionally, WBFF produced a daily children and family calendar of events promoting educational and entertainment opportunities in the local viewing area. The station worked with Share Our Strength to promote the free summer meals program in Baltimore City to insure that low income children and teens receive free lunch and dinner meals during the summer school break. Additionally, PSAs were produced that promoted summer reading, learning enrichment and camp programs. WBFF continued its partnership with The Maryland Science Center, National Aquarium and B & O Railroad Museum promoting learning opportunities outside the classroom and in the community. The station sponsored the CollegeBound Scholars Luncheon and The Baltimore Book Festival promoting reading opportunities and entertainment for children. WBFF worked with the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America to promote recruitment for cub and boy scouts. Station management continued to serve on boards of directors for local organizations serving youth and station staff participated in career days and station tours for local schools, summer camps, churches and Scout organization during the third quarter. |
