THIS RADIOFREQUENCY RADIATION STUDY IS BEING CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE WHETHER THIS PROPOSAL IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH OET BULLETIN 65 DATED AUGUST 1997 REGARDING HUMAN EXPOSURE TO RADIOFREQUENCY RADIATION IN THE VICINITY OF BROADCAST TOWERS. THE ANTENNA SYSTEM OF THIS PROPOSAL WILL BE MOUNTED WITH ITS CENTER OF RADIATION 39 METERS ABOVE GROUND LEVEL AND WILL OPERATE WITH AN EFFECTIVE RADIATED POWER OF 0.250 KW (CIRCULARLY POLARIZED). THIS PROPOSAL CONTRIBUTES, WORST CASE, 10.98284 MICROWATTS PER SQUARE CENTIMETER OR 5.4914% OF THE ALLOWABLE ANSI LIMIT. THIS CALCULATION WAS MADE IN THE UNCONTROLLED MODE. THIS PROPOSAL IS TO BE CO-LOCATED WITH AM STATION WCHM (AM). WCHM (AM) ON 1490 KHZ PRESENTLY OPERATES WITH A RADIATOR OF 54.0 ELECTRICAL DEGREES (0.15 WAVELENGTH) AND A POWER OF 1 KW. THE PROTECTIVE FENCE IS LOCATED 3 METERS FROM THE RADIATOR. WCHM (AM) HAS A PENDING APPLICATION TO MODIFY ITS FACILITY TO INCREASE THE RADIATOR HEIGHT TO 81.8 DEGREES (0.227 WAVELENGTH) AND DECREASE ITS POWER TO 0.878 KW. THE REQUIRED FENCE DISTANCE FROM THE RADIATOR OF THE PROPOSED AM FACILITY IS 1 METER. THE EXISTING FENCE 3 METERS FROM THE RADIATOR WILL REMAIN IN PLACE. SINCE THE PROTECTIVE FENCE IS IN EXCESS OF 1 METER FROM THE RADIATOR AND THE RFR CONTRIBUTION OF THE PROPOSED TRANSLATOR IS BELOW THE MAXIMUM CONTRIBUTION OF 100%. THEREFORE, IT IS THOUGHT THIS APPLICATION IS IN COMPLIANCE WITH OET BULLETIN 65.
